I got deeply involved in Web3 in 2021, spent a while learning the space. In 2023 I launched a collection. It minted out and opened doors I didn't expect, and the work moved into galleries, so I spent the next stretch in the fine art world instead of this one.
Three years later I'm back, because nothing else moves like this. New art, new founders, new projects. But expectations have changed. Mints that used to cost .1 started adding zeros, more and more zeros, 1 each year lol till we're at free mints. well how is anything gonna get built on a free mint? People complain when its not free but then complain when a project cant buidl anything. hmm. well this is also artwork that took 2 years to draw damn.
BAFOONTOWN is the collection I finally got to bring to life. 2,026 unique Bafoons, drawn by hand, pixel by pixel, on the same deep orange. They're ugly on purpose. Every Bafoon traces back to one of nine bloodlines. Twelve are one-of-ones. Five are residents: Mista Vine, Mista Devious, Mista Black Hol, Tha Mayer, Tha Monstur. The other seven aren't Bafoons at all. They're the mutation the rest of the town came from.
Why rrr we minting on bafoontown.wtf? Because I wanted to make my own minting site ofc. What a challenge that was. I hope you guys take some time to admire all that orange. Let me introduce you to my Bafoons.
Where They Came From
It started with a mutation. One bad plant in the orange swamp, and out came 34 million pixel combinations. Only 999 made it to the town. The rest are still in the mudd. Every Bafoon comes from one of nine strains: Bogwallow, Mudditch, Toadrot, Boglings, Bludnook, Ghosts, Black Light, Amfebiens, Zombeez. That's the family tree. Ghosts and apes turn up in Bafoontown too, drifting in from somewhere the mutation never fully explained.
The Mint
2,026 on Robinhood, one per wallet. 1,500 go to the Muddlist (GTD), the guaranteed spots drawn from the town lottery, with OG community collabs across Robinhood and Ethereum. The remaining supply opens to the Public at 0.0002 ETH, a small price to keep the bots out.
111 reserved for the town treasury — giveaways and rewards for holders. Team takes none from the mint. The collection reveals 24 hours after sellout.
What Ye Own
Holders own more than a piece of art. Yer a resident of Bafoontown, not a spectator, and every Bafoon can be claimed as a physical edition. As the town grows, so does yer stake in what comes next: future developments, drops, and editions.
How the Lottery Worked
To get in early, people dropped their handle in the hat, did the tasks, and left a wallet. Everyone who entered went into the same pool. From there, two town lotteries were run.
The first drew the guaranteed spots. Winners pulled here make up the Muddlist and are promised a mint. The wallets that entered but weren't pulled weren't done, they rolled straight into the second lottery, a fair-style raffle for the Townlist. Winners there earn a first come, first served residential claim. No early access sold, a completely fair raffle.
